Isadora Duncan & The Daughters of Prometheus

The ‘Isadorables’, Duncan’s adopted daughters, were addressed as the ‘Daughters of
Prometheus’, and bore this title sourced from her inspiration and the homage that she received. It speaks of Duncan’s determination for a lasting fire of the mind and kindling of the body to flourish and continue in artistic creation for generations to come. Duncan’s art was to endure not through the rigidity of a physical system but was to be espoused by enriching the formation of character, the potency of imagination and the fire of life. As Duncan had proved, a materialization of the spiritual was possible through a transcendent, timeless wisdom and a permanence of truths.
